Women in Aviation Training (WiAT) returns to EATS 2024 with a renewed focus on driving change and supporting women in aviation training, while also introducing our special guest writer and speaker: Captain Mum!

After a successful launch event at EATS in 2023, WiAT has become a key initiative for providing practical tools and guidance to help women across various roles within the industry.

Earlier this year we produced our first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) survey, presenting an unvarnished and stark look at what needs to chain in the industry.

So whether you're a pilot, instructor, student, or working in management, cabin crew training, ground operations, or maintenance, WiAT wants to hear from you.

The program is committed to advancing women and creating a more family-friendly environment in the aviation sector.

Through a combination of live events, webinars, and an active online community forum, WiAT offers a platform for networking, sharing insights, and building a toolkit of resources to help members achieve their professional and personal goals.

At this year's EATS, WiAT will present an insightful session on Thursday, 7th November, from 13:00 to 14:00, focusing on methods, processes, and competencies that can create a more supportive environment for women and families in aviation.

The session will feature a panel of inspiring speakers:

  • Captain Veronica Zunic – Salient Aero
  • Professor Sue Durbin – University of the West of England
  • Captain Diana Gomes da Silva – easyJet (Moderator)
  • Captain Mum! Meet the person behind the stories

The discussion will delve into key strategies and research that can help shape more inclusive and family-friendly work environments.

This session is open to anyone involved in aviation training, from pilots and instructors to cabin crew and maintenance professionals—both men and women are encouraged to participate.

Join this vibrant community of like-minded professionals at EATS 2024 in Cascais, Portugal, and be part of the movement to empower change.
