APATS 2024 will hosting a brand new session at APATS, led by the Women in Aviation Training (WiAT) initiative, marking a pivotal moment in the pursuit of inclusivity within the aviation training industry.  As recruitment and retention challenges continue to dominate discussions across pilot, cabin and MRO communities, supporting a more family friendly and inclusive culture and process is more important than ever.

Launched in 2023, WiAT has emerged as a beacon of support and empowerment for women in aviation, while also engaging men in the crucial dialogue of industry-wide advancement. Following two successful WiAT sessions at EATS and WATS, the new session brings discussion and debate to the Asia region, with a plan to deliver meaningful change to our aviation training community.

At the heart of WiAT's mission is the creation of a robust community that nurtures growth, fuels ambition, and drives change.

Recognizing the unique challenges of the aviation sector, the initiative champions a family-friendly approach, acknowledging the delicate balance between professional demands and personal life.

Building a Global Community

WiAT's influence extends far beyond conference halls. The initiative has cultivated a thriving online community forum, with over 1000 members, serving as a virtual hub for:

  • Sharing experiences and industry insights
  • Networking with professionals across the globe
  • Accessing a stream of informative webinars and meetings

The digital forum ensures that the spirit of support and collaboration continues year-round, empowering members with the tools and connections needed to achieve their goals.

A Spotlight on Diversity and Inclusion

The WiAT session, scheduled for Wednesday, 11th September at 13:15, promises to be a highlight of APATS 2024.
