An innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) role-play based training platform developed by New York head quartered CGS Immersive is scheduled to have its official launch before the end of the year.

Speaking at the inaugural session of Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium (APATS) 2024 held in Singapore in September, Adam Shah, Head of APAC at CGS Immersive said that the company has already soft-launched the platform with several of its existing clients.

The cutting-edge platform utilizes scenario-based learning through Generative AI to offer personalized training paths.

The platform known which is known internally as “Simulearn,” will receive a new name on market entry. It has already been used by the Singaporean carrier Scoot Airlines.

“Our Coach and Examiner AI Agents utilize corporate training materials and evaluation criteria, ensuring that each training session is tailored to the specific roles and responsibilities within your organization. This advanced, role-play-based learning transforms abstract soft skills into practical, lasting competencies for cabin crew, flight crew, ground staff, engineers, and customer service teams,” said Shah.

Instructional designers can now quickly build role-plays that enable trainees to interact with an AI Agent simulating a passenger. Meanwhile, a Coach (CIC) provides real-time guidance, and an Examiner assesses performance, resulting in a detailed report. This revolutionary platform drastically reduces the development time for these scenarios—from traditional weeks to mere minutes—due to CGS Immersive's patent-pending AI processes.

Some examples of role-plays for cabin crew include:

· Handling Disruptive Behaviour;

· Managing Intoxication Issues;

· Addressing Unruly Passengers in the Cabin;

· Enforcing Safety Regulations; and

· Responding to Disrespectful Behaviour Towards Crew

Shah says following the launch, CGS Immersive will look for distribution partners and is also eyeing aviation training and educational institutions as potential customers. He also said that there were requests from some airlines is to apply generative AI for delivering more dynamic virtual hard skills training for airlines.

Future upgrades, Shah said, would involve camera integration and delivering a more immersive experience using Virtual Reality (VR) holograms. “Roles-plays can be easily integrated with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for training record keeping purposes.”
