Raytheon Intelligence & Space, a Raytheon Technologies business, is partnering with commercial tech companies Red Hat and VMware to pursue Cyber TRIDENT, a critical training platform for the U.S. Military’s Cyber Mission Force. The contract, valued at up to $957 million, is expected to be awarded in early 2021.
The winner of Cyber TRIDENT will manage and evolve the PersistentCyber Training Environment, or PCTE, through which the military will train,rehearse missions and conduct realistic exercises from anywhere in the world.
“Raytheon’s Cyber TRIDENT team is challenging the status quofor how software is developed and delivered to military training systems,” saidBob Williams, vice president of Global Training Solutions at RaytheonIntelligence & Space, a Raytheon Technologies company. “The speed of changein cyber warfare dictates rapid and continuous delivery of new training, whichRaytheon will accomplish with techniques such as DevOps.”
The Cyber TRIDENT team combines Raytheon Intelligence andSpace’s software development approaches, proven on other Department of Defenseprograms, with best practices and automation tools from the commercial sector.The team also will include small businesses and other innovative companies.
