For three years, Pinnacle Solutions, Inc. (Pinnacle) has been working on projects awarded under the Computer Based Instructional Design II (CBID II) contract, providing the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) customers with a range of training services and products related to computer-based training. Pinnacle won the CBID II contract in 2017 as a five-year, single award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with a period of performance through April 2022.
Pinnacle was recently awarded two new delivery orders under the CBID II contract.
The delivery order issued by the U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Product Manager Multi-Mission Protected Vehicle Systems (PdM MPVS) for Explosive Hazard Pre-detonation (EHP) Roller Courseware lists a requirement for Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) for the EHP Roller, an Army-developed system that attaches to the front of an MMPV and is designed to pre-detonate mines and pressure plate-initiated explosive hazards.
Over the duration of the contract, Pinnacle’s CBID II team will be developing a total of 16 hours of Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 interactivity with all courseware being built as a 3-D model. This IMI training will be available to soldiers to reinforce learning scenarios on the installation and removal, operation (to include situation-based terrain maneuvering), and operator maintenance of the system.
On the TROPHY System Courseware delivery order, Pinnacle’s team will be developing web-based, compact disk/digital video disc (CD/DVD) standalone IMI for the Trophy Active Protection System by mid-January 2021. A new CBID II customer, Program Manager (PdM) Abrams, together with PEO STRI, set the program requirements as 7.15 hours of Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 IMI that will include standard and video instructional content, materials, resources, and processes for evaluating the attainment of training objectives. The web-based version of the IMI will be hosted on the Blackboard Learning Management System.
