The DGAM (General Directorate of Armament and Material) of the Ministry of Defense of the Government of Spain has hired Spanish SME Simloc to manufacture the cabin of the Eurofighter that will complete its virtual test bench (RIG) of the Logistics Center for Armament and Experimentation (CLAEX).

Under the supervision of the DGAM Eurofighter Program Office, the manufacture of the cabin will require a high degree of coordination between CLAEX, international reference unit for experimental engineering development, and Simloc.

The project arises from the aspiration of the Spanish Air Force to expand its ability to run the Eurofighter application software in its virtual RIG, providing it with a man-machine interface, analogous to that of the aircraft, instead of being controlled by a computer. In this way, test pilots can realistically evaluate new developments at a very early stage, eliminating many design repetitions and avoiding having to wait for actual flight tests to make evaluations, thereby saving time and money.
