Simloc Research SL has announced its participation in the FITS4TOP industrial consortium selected by the European Commission to carry out the Combat Jet Training Platforms project of the European Defence Industry Development Programme (EDIDP).

Simloc is the only Spanish company within the consortium and leads the design and development of an Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) system based on virtual reality and haptic technology.

The main objective of the FITS4TOP project is the development of a common European solution that responds to the existing and future needs of the training of fighter pilots. It is based on the use of new technologies that improve training in all its phases, with special emphasis on the LVC (Live Virtual Constructive) architecture, where the Simloc IMI system is integrated, within the same training environment with real aerial means, flight simulators and virtual air, land and sea resources generated with artificial intelligence.

This initiative has the support of the Ministries of Defense of Spain, Denmark, France, Italy and Romania, but it will be adaptable to the needs of other EU states. It will last 42 months and be co-financed by the European Commission and the participating nations, with a total budget of 5.2 million euros.
