Border defence cadets and police officers from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, in northwest China, recently took part in drone pilot training jointly conducted by the PLA Army Academy of Border and Coastal Defense (Urumqi) and the Border Defence Commission of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The training was aimed at enhancing professional skills in drone operation to safeguard Chinese borders.

The training group comprised of 30 personnel, all of whom passed the assessment. On completion of their final assessment, the trainees will receive a Chinese national civil drone pilot certificate.

The border defence drone training course involved theoretical study, simulation training and actual flight operation, followed by assessment and certification.
