LSI, Inc. has been awarded a $50M contract to complete four AH-64E Apache Longbow Helicopter Maintenance Trainer Multiplex, Avionics, Visionics, Weapons Electrical Systems Trainers (L-7AY MAVWEST). The award also includes onsite training for the operators and maintainers of the devices, along with the option to purchase up to four additional devices.

The L-7AY is the most sophisticated training device built by LSI, Inc. to-date. The device is designed to provide training to both AH-64 Attack Helicopter Repairer (15R) and Armament/Electrical Avionic Systems Repairer (15Y) students.

The L-7AY has fully functional Hydraulic, ECS, Pressurized Air, Gun and Ammo Handling, Flight Control systems, Pylons and AIA (Modernized-Targeting Acquisition Designation Sight (M-TADS)/Pilot Night Vision System (PNVS)). The contract to complete these four L-7AY devices will bring the total number to twelve completed L-7AY devices produced by LSI, Inc.
