Exercise-Talisman-Sabre-2021

Exercise Talisman Sabre (TS21), the largest bilateral exercise between Australia and the USA is now underway. The high-end warfighting exercise are being held to  enhance the interoperability between the ADF and the US armed forces.

The exercise also features participating forces from Canada, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea and the United Kingdom.

The ninth edition of TS21 will involve force preparation activities, amphibious landings, ground force manoeuvres, urban operations, air combat and maritime operations.

More than 17,000 Australian and American defence personnel are participating in the exercises across central and northeast Queensland and off the east coast of Australia. The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) is deploying 40 aircraft for the exercise.

Approximately 5000 personnel who are part of the US Navy’s Expeditionary Strike Group, making up a large portion of the participating international forces will take part in offshore exercises.

A mandatory 14 day quarantine has been observed by all international military participants participating in the onshore component of the exercises.
