A unit from the United States Marine Corps’ 2nd Marine Logistics Group will be coming to Finland to train with the Nyland Brigade from October until early December.

The entire unit of 150 persons will be accommodated in Nyland Brigade and will mainly operate in the brigade's training area.

In November-December the unit will participate in the Finnish Navy’s main exercise of the autumn, Exercise Freezing Winds 22.

The cooperation between the Finnish Navy and US Navy and Marine Corps has increased in the last few months.  The exercises organized in May and August in Finland improved the interoperability of units and familiarized the American forces with the conditions and operating environment of the Finnish coast.

The presence of the Marine Corps unit has no impact on the arrangements of conscript training. The Marines will be staying in housing containers provided by the Uusimaa Brigade.
