The Air Force Material Command (AFMC), in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), has awarded a contract to Aechelon Technology to provide a Night Imaging & Threat Evaluation (NITE) Laboratory Classroom and Night Scene Simulator.

The Night Vision Goggle (NVG) Part Task Trainer (PTT) will feature the capability of displaying stimulated IR NVG, Out-the-window (OTW), visible, representative NVG, and Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) formats.

Aechelon Technology will supply its pC-NOVA compact Image Generators, a true multi-spectral multi-channel IG featuring NVIDIA Professional Series  graphic cards perfectly matched to Night Scene Stimulation. The Aechelon compact image generation system integrates a full-resolution Global worldwide 3D visual and sensor database with extensive domestic and foreign areas of interest.

Aechelon Technology will also supply Norxe P50 Infrared projectors.

This U.S. Air Force NITE Lab is an improved version of already in service twenty-three (23) Marine Corps and Navy units employed for NVG airman certification worldwide. The Global database is already deployed and being used on other US DoD programs without the need for down-sampling, de-rating, or modification—thus ensuring complete correlation and commonality.
