RQ4-Global-Hawk

A combined team of Air Education and Training Command ’s Integrated Technology Platform (ITP), members of the 319th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and a group of Mass Virtual team members, worked together to recreate and capture essential hands-on training procedures for the RQ-4 at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota.

With the addition of the RQ-4 Global Hawk to the Virtual Hangar platform, airmen of the 319th Reconnaissance Wing and Aircraft Maintenance Squadron will experience the highest fidelity during their training from these customized immersive extended reality (XR) training modules. These true-to-life custom XR training modules are specifically designed for the maintainers of this aircraft to ensure they stay up-to-date on their training, enhance their readiness and help to reduce aircraft wear and tear.

The remotely piloted surveillance aircraft, RQ-4 Global Hawk, is fully equipped with an integrated sensor suite that offers essential intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. The RQ-4 Global Hawk can withstand global long-endurance and high-altitude day or night mission.

Virtual Hangar is the U.S. Air Force’s virtual aircraft maintenance hangar training platform, currently offering training for 29 aircraft. It was designed specifically for the Air Force using the Mass Virtual MassXR platform.
