Engineering & Computer Simulations (ECS) will be sharing its Aerial Port Expeditor Virtual Reality (APEX VR), a virtual reality simulator game that trains users how to prepare a C-17 military cargo aircraft for the loading and unloading of cargo. Spark STEM Fest ignites curiosity for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and related careers; this engaging, family-friendly event will be held at the Orlando Science Center from February 17-19.
ECS’ APEX VR allows users to feel like they are walking around inside a C-17 military cargo aircraft while learning how to prepare the aircraft for loading and unloading cargo. This VR game walks the user through a checklist of the appropriate steps to ensure the safety of all cargo and personnel.
Waymon Armstrong, ECS CEO and founder states: “Our ECS team is proud to be a part of this event that celebrates the success and growth of our Central Florida STEM community. We have been involved as an exhibitor and sponsor since it originated 18 years ago as Otronicon. We enjoy inspiring students with an interest in modeling, simulation, and training and building excitement about the possibilities that lie ahead.”
Presented by the UCF Office of Research, Spark STEM Fest promotes inspiration and engagement in STEM while sparking an interest in STEM professions. The multi-day event features exhibitors, hands-on experiences, and dynamic demonstrations, all led by STEM experts from Central Florida.
