AERALIS is partnering with AI-based digital simulation company Aerogility to enhance future fleet planning for its first modular military aircraft system.
By modelling the future of a fleet through the entire lifecycle of an asset, Aerogility’s model-based AI technology will equip AERALIS’s integrated digital enterprise with insights into forecasting, planning, risk management and strategic decision-making.
Aerogility’s technology will create a digital replica of the AERALIS fleet from the aircraft design stage, enabling detailed future fleet planning while the Phoenix programme continues apace.
Gary Vickers, CEO of Aerogility, commented: “Our collaboration with AERALIS goes beyond conventional fleet planning. Together, we are creating a Platform and Fleet Availability Model, which will influence the design of AERALIS’s support system and platform architecture. The model will enable AERALIS to set baseline availability and a through-life cost model to credibly deliver on its promises of reduced through-life costs and increased fleet availability.”
AERALIS’s modular military aircraft system will feature open-architecture avionics, a common fuselage, interchangeable outer wings, and centreline engine nacelles. Underpinned by an end-to-end digital enterprise and certification framework, AERALIS supports both crewed and uncrewed missions, from training through to frontline support roles, all while significantly reducing costs across development, production, training and maintenance.
Mark Williams CEng FIET, Availability Director at AERALIS, commented: “Aerogility’s AI capabilities are instrumental in our ability to shape future fleet planning and optimise the support and upgrade processes of our modular system. With the insights afforded by Aerogility, we can deliver greater mission versatility while reducing operational costs, making our aircraft system a highly flexible and cost-effective solution for modern air force needs.”
