Chinese and Belarusian armed forces recently trained together under Eagle Assault-2024 held near Brest, Belarus, announced the Ministry of National Defense on Sunday.

The participating troops from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) belonged to brigade under the PLA’s 80th Group Army.

The exercises were focused on counter-terrorism operations with troops from both sides carrying out mixed-team training exercises, hostage rescue operations and counter-terrorism missions.

A live-fire training session simulated the seizure of an airport under terrorist control.

Drones were used by Chinese and Belarusian troops to undertake reconnaissance, before they flew in and were parachuted to designated areas via helicopters, following which they seizing the airport.

PLA attack helicopters and ground assault vehicles were also part of the drills.
