The 2024 SMART Scholarship Program welcomed nearly 500 new scholars from diverse backgrounds, representing almost 200 colleges and universities, reports DVIDS.
The program supports STEM students with full tuition, stipends, internships, and guaranteed civilian employment within the Department of Defense after graduation. This year also marks the introduction of the Ronald V. Dellums Memorial Scholarship, expanding eligibility to high school seniors to boost underrepresented participation in the DoD STEM workforce.
