The National Center for Simulation (NCS) and Orange County are collaborating to host the 11th annual Florida Simulation Summit at the DoubleTree Hotel in Orlando, Florida, May 9, from
7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This year’s theme is "Smart Decisions Build Smart Cities: Optimizing Operations with Artificial Intelligence and Simulation."
Also known as the “Florida Sim Summit,” this event will provide a dynamic and immersive experience, featuring engaging panel discussions that address topics related to smart city research, applications and lessons learned for optimizing operations with artificial intelligence (AI) and simulation. The summit brings together leaders, innovators and experts while providing vendors an opportunity to showcase their latest advances. Beverly Seay, Southeast Regional Director of the Defense Innovation Unit, U.S. Department of Defense, will deliver the keynote address.
“Simulation, AI and other emerging technologies are the key to building smart cities ,” said George Cheros, NCS president and chief executive officer. “We need to build on the foundation we’ve established to continue advancing and implementing these technologies. The technology developed by the modeling and simulation industry is a substantial contributor to the creation of smart cities. We’re proud to host this annual event to keep our community informed and allow for more collaborative efforts. ”
The summit highlights the continued progress, synergy and development of Central Florida’s multibillion-dollar modeling, simulation and training community, to showcase the state of the industry to audiences from local to the global levels. Orlando’s ecosystem planted strong roots in the defense sector years ago, but it has since diversified into life sciences, healthcare, sports, space and gaming, among other non-defense-related industries.
