Retired Vice Admiral Joins Defence Simulation Firm

Matrix Pro Sims, a provider of professional-grade wargaming software for military and professional applications, has appointed Vice Admiral (ret.) Georgios Floros as Senior Defence Advisor.

Vice Admiral (ret.) Floros brings over 40 years of distinguished service in the Hellenic Navy, marked by extensive experience in operations, leadership, intelligence, defense, and strategic planning. His career includes deep involvement in NATO, EU, and joint operations, providing him with a profound understanding of contemporary maritime security challenges.

Throughout his career, Vice Admiral (ret.) Floros held numerous senior command positions, including Commander of Frigates Command, Director of Naval Operations, and Director of the National Joint Operations Centre. He also served as the Honorable Deputy Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff. His operational command at sea and experience as a Commanding Officer of surface naval units underscores his practical expertise.

Vice Admiral (ret.) Floros holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the US Naval Postgraduate School and has a lifelong passion for gaming, including experience creating 3D models for naval simulators such as Virtual Sailor. He is a strong advocate for the use of advanced wargaming and simulations for defense training, planning, and analysis, and he believes in bridging professional military expertise with the commercial wargaming world.
