Kilo Solutions Ltd, a provider of Maritime VR Simulators, has been chosen by the Royal Navy to procure 24 x VASCO in a Box (VIAB) units, marking the company's second major defence contract.

VIAB is a self-contained, portable training solution designed for onboard immersive individual and team training without any dependency on local technical infrastructure.

Maintenance of Bridge Watchkeeping standards, Mission Rehearsal and addressing Skill Fade are now all achievable within VIAB.

Each unit comes packaged in a rugged, secure Peli case, making it easily deployable in demanding operational environments. Inside the case, users will find four Meta Quest headsets designed for immersive multi-user VR training, along with a dedicated router that provides a secure, standalone LAN. A preconfigured laptop loaded with VASCO Planner, allowing immediate access to a full suite of VASCO training scenarios and the capability to create custom exercises. To ensure a fast setup, a quick start guide is included, enabling users to have the onboard simulator ready in under 10 minutes.

This announcement follows Kilo’s contract with the US Navy’s ONR, where its COTS VASCO product was adapted into the Virtual Bridge and Navigational Trainer (VIBRaNT) to enhance naval training capabilities.
