Cerner has introduced Chart Assist, a new AI-enabled workflow, to join a suite of solutions designed to reduce physician burnout, enhance the clinician’s experience and increase productivity.

Cerner’s suite of AI-enabled solutions goes beyondtraditional processing and focuses on user efficiency to identify gaps andinconsistencies within the patient record. These advancements will helpproviders address patient care and validate diagnoses, ultimately helping toreduce the physician workload, while supporting the financial strength of thehealth system.

“The health care environment is demanding, fast-paced andcan take an emotional toll on clinicians. Cerner has set out to make thephysician experience easier with our AI technology,” said Dr. Jeffrey Wall,director and physician strategy executive, Cerner. “Some physicians expressfeelings of fatigue, frustration and disempowerment. This can have a realimpact on their personal wellness and the quality of care they deliver topatients. Our new AI-driven advancement will complement our existing workflowsto enhance the physician experience. Our goal is to bring real change to theindustry-wide challenge of physician burnout.”

Recently, Cerner willingly participated in a study reportedby MedStar Health that is designed to help push for changes to address risks topatient safety and clinician burnout. Cerner has been actively engaged inaddressing burnout as an industry challenge, with focus on engaging thephysician in the building of EHR workflows to better reflect how they delivercare. The use of analytics, research and feedback are key, the company says, tocontinuously optimize solutions to deliver a more personalized and intuitivecare delivery experience.
