KbPort has released Virtual MedsManager, a robust, fullyfunctional application that allows for virtual medication stocking, dispensingand administration, offering all the functionality of KbPort MedsManagerwithout the need for a physical cart or cabinet.

Educators and learners have the ability to store files anddocuments as well as create and review messages, recalls and stockdiscrepancies from any Windows 10 device. Virtual MedsManager even simulatesdrawer functionality and barcode scanning for a complete solution.

The software platform allows for the simulation ofmedication administration activities typically completed at a bedside cart orstorage cabinet. The software offers instruction and exercises to instill bestpractices regarding medication administration. No medication or dispensinghardware is required for this fully-virtual solution.

Users typically include those who want to teach medicationadministration without access to simulated dispensing hardware such asSimCartRx and SimCabRx. Virtual MedsManager can be used to reinforce conceptswhile also providing learners with the ability to acclimate themselves with thesoftware interface and features in advance. Learners can practice skills fromtheir personal Windows computers to gain basic skills prior to scheduled labs, which can improve efficiency while reducing costs.

“Virtual MedsManager enables educators to prepare learneractivities in advance, thus saving valuable classroom and clinical time thatcan then be dedicated to other educational goals. Furthermore, VirtualMedsManager empowers learners to practice medication administration anddispensation skills on their own devices allowing them to gain extensiveskills, such as enhancing psychomotor competence and gaining increased selfconfidence for a smoother transition to practice,” said Education Consultant WendyGrbach, MSN, RN, CLNC.
