Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, has received a FLAIM Systems Virtual Reality (VR) simulator to train students for its firefighter program.

The VR training device will allow students and current firefighters to have a hands-on experience while immersed in a variety of scenarios from barn fires to switching to different fire suppression mediums in any location. The device will allow users to learn and critique themselves through after-action review.

The simulator is expected to be implemented for CVTC’s fire and EMS program next semester, in January 2022.
