Coventry University has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Singapore's Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and Home Team Academy (HTA) to enhance simulation-based training and research for disaster preparedness. This collaboration will focus on developing realistic simulation systems to improve the effectiveness of emergency response training.

The new systems will utilize advanced virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies, providing trainees with immersive, lifelike scenarios. These will replicate high-stakes emergency situations such as urban fires, oil terminal explosions, and other large-scale disasters, enabling responders to train in realistic conditions.

This partnership aligns with Singapore's objective to strengthen its emergency preparedness strategies by adopting innovative training methods. Coventry University's expertise in simulation-based learning will help SCDF and HTA tailor their training to meet the complex needs of real-world emergencies.
