The Aviation Institute of Maintenance has secured the location for its 12th campus, with a new site in Charlotte, North Carolina, set to open its doors for business in early 2018.

AIM's business development executive, LaVern Phillips, told CAT that deal for the new location has been completed and that outfitting of the centre is scheduled to begin in July.

Across its current 11 campuses, the AIM offers six aircraft maintenance and mechanic training programmes - Aviation Maintenance Technical Engineer (AMTE), Aviation Maintenance Technician Helicopter (AMTH), Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT), Avionics Technician, Combination Welding and Aircraft Dispatcher Program - as well as courses in areas such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning, unmanned aircraft systems and human factors.

The other AIM campuses are located in Atlanta, GA; Dallas and Houston, TX; Indianapolis, IN; Kansas City, MO; Las Vegas, NV; Orlando, FL; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Virginia Beach, VA; and Washington, DC.
