Norway's Pilot Flight Academy (PFA) has joined forces with Dhana-based Chimes Aviation to educate India's future airline pilots.
Although the aviation market in India is one of the fastest growing in the world, the educational capacity for pilots is limited, thereby threatening pilot supply.
For this reason, over the past year PFA has been meeting with the management teams of leading airlines and potential educational partners in India to establish new partnerships to improve commercial pilot education in the country. After evaluating several training partners, PFA found Chimes Aviation's modern academy met required standards with regards to quality and capacity.
Now, PFA and Chimes Aviation are working on establishing an airline-ready cadet pilot training program for Indian airlines. The program will combine the DGCA and EASA CPL, ME, IR and Type Rating program with training in both India and Norway.
CEO of PFA, Frode Granlund, explained, "We need a good, solid partner to succeed in India. Chimes Aviation is a perfect match with its strong financial background and high-quality training center. The professionalism of the organisation, which has more than ten years of continuous operations behind it, was an easy choice as a partner for us." "We have established a modern training center, and are very happy to join forces with PFA to cooperate in the education of many of the future pilots for Indian airlines. This cooperation will give us a highly increased capacity, and also ensure that a greater part of the pilot's education will take place in India," added CEO of Chimes Aviation, Mr. Y N Sharma.
