Coptersafety has appointed Erkka Suvikumpu as chief executive officer. He comes from the position as CEO and Co-owner of Safera Oy, a pioneer in smart home sensor and fire prevention solutions. Suvikumpu will take up his new position on 13th May.

"Erkka has a broad understanding of the aviation industry and a strong knowledge of developing digital businesses," commented Antti Keränen, chairman of Coptersafety. "He has proven experience in leading people and larger organisations, and also managing complex entities. Erkka's latest track record in leading a significant transformation at Safera demonstrates his leadership skills. I am confident his solid international business-to-business background will help in growing Coptersafety's operations."

Suvikumpu has been the CEO of Safera since 2017 and has worked for more than 10 years in various business development and new venture-related VP-level positions for Finnish airline Finnair. The last position he held was vice president, Business Development & Quality, Technical Division.

Suvikumpu will follow Christer Niemi who has worked in the role of Coptersafety's interim CEO since December 2018.
