Southwest Airlines Seeks to Grow Talent Pipeline with Scholarship Offering

Applications are now open until 28 February for the 2023 Southwest Airlines Scholarship to students across the country with a career interest in the airline industry — whether that interest is in frontline operations, maintenance, corporate roles, or the many roles in between. Recipients of the Southwest Airlines Scholarship will receive $5,000 and are eligible to renew their scholarship annually for up to four years.

Applicants must intend to enroll or be enrolled at an accredited vocational, community/junior college or undergraduate program, and pursuing a degree or post-secondary certificate. The selection committee looks for students showing academic achievement, financial need, demonstrated communication skills and strong character values. In addition, the selection committee will take into consideration the overall quality of the application materials and personal statement.
