Women in Aviation International (WAI) hosted its 36th annual conference from 27-29 March 2025, at the Gaylord Rockies Resort in Denver, Colorado. The event featured keynote speakers, networking sessions, and an exhibit hall with over 170 exhibitors. More than 90 scholarships were awarded, continuing WAI’s mission to support women in aviation.
WAI CEO Lynda Coffman addressed attendees, emphasizing resilience and unity in overcoming barriers in aviation and aerospace. The conference also welcomed seven new board members, with Michaela Lucas assuming the role of board chair.
A key highlight was the induction of three aviation pioneers into WAI’s International Pioneer Hall of Fame: Janet Harmon Bragg, one of America’s first Black female pilots; Willa Brown Chappell, an advocate for gender and racial equality in aviation; and Theresa Claiborne, the first Black woman qualified as a U.S. Air Force pilot.
The event concluded with Girls in Aviation Day, where more than 250 girls participated in career panels and hands-on activities, engaging with aviation professionals and educators.
The conference saw nearly 5,000 attendees from 34 countries, reinforcing WAI’s global reach and commitment to advancing opportunities for women in aviation.
