The first of four leased King Air KA350 aircraft have been certified for use by the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF). The new aircraft will replace the B200 fleet and provide the RNZAF with domestic multi-engine pilot training capabilities.

Air warfare officers are trained to fly and operate the P-3K2 Orion and C-130 Hercules in Australia. This new fleet will allow for training in navigation, flight planning, mission management and communications.

Two of the four aircraft will be configured to assist in maritime surveillance tasks across New Zealand’s economic zone. Another three aircraft will be delivered in 2019.
