Italian tech company Leonardo and CAE are to collaborate on helicopter training solutions for the government market in the U.S.

The two companies recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) that expands on their long-established relationship in helicopter training. The MoA focuses on delivering helicopter and training packages to U.S. government operators and Foreign Military Sales customers.

The companies will provide an integrated training solution that includes aircraft, simulators and courseware. Each arrangement will be specific to the customer and determined on a case-by-case basis.

"Leonardo has a long history of collaborating with CAE for helicopter training," said William Hunt, CEO AgustaWestland Philadelphia Corporation.

"By creating integrated training systems for the U.S. government together, we are able to offer forward-looking, cost effective solutions that ensure mission success."

Ray Duquette, CAE USA President and General Manager, said he looked forward to working further with Leonardo.

"Our extensive experience in helicopter simulation and training and specifically on Leonardo helicopters means we will be able to offer timely, cost-effective and integrated training solutions to our U.S. customers," he said.
