Diamond Visionics successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the upgrade on the U.S. Marine Corps KC-130T Image Generator. Using GenesisIG, the worked was done for the avionics company JF Taylor, Inc.
The GenesisIG scene was generated from NAVAIR Portable Source Initiative (NPSI) data sets. Using NPSI satisfies the desire for the government to reuse visual data that has been previously developed.
“We are extremely pleased with the success of the program and our on-time delivery of the IG which utilizes NPSI data and meets all program requirements,” said Diamond Visionics VP Engineering, Greg Amend.
Following up on the FAT, the Image Generator is being prepared for delivery to JF Taylor for integration and testing with the rest of the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division and the Marine Corps KC-130T flight simulator.
The simulator prepares pilots for flight in the tanker-model aircraft for a variety of mission types such as in-flight refueling, rapid-ground refueling and the transportation of personnel and cargo.
