Quantum3D, a provider of training and simulation solutions for government and commercial applications, won a contract with Advance Vision Company of Saudi Arabia (AVC Defense) to upgrade and modernize a Unit Training Device (UTD) for the Bell 412 helicopters operated by the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF).
The upgrade is to extend the operating life of the simulator with a cost-effective solution. The upgrade includes replacing the host simulator computer; visual system including image generator and displays; visual database; instructor and operator station (IOS); and audio system; as well as rewiring, testing and refitting existing cockpit displays and controls. The upgrade for the visual system will feature Quantum3D’s IDX 80 Image Generator running MANTIS®.
