L3-RAF-pilot-training1

L3 Commercial Aviation, a commercial pilot training provider, won a three-year contract from the UK Royal Air Force (RAF) to support the training of future RAF multi-engine pilots; it is the first time that L3 has provided such training for the RAF.

L3 was selected to provide a custom solution for approximately 100 trainee pilots who will undertake a course similar to a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Instrument Rating (IR) as well as the Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) course to supplement the RAF’s training program. L3 says its course will ensure the pilots have the highest standard of skills before returning to the RAF to complete their operational flying training.

Upon completion of Officer Training and Elementary Flying Training with the RAF, the trainee pilots will take the tailored course on multi-engine aircraft before progressing to the MCC course using L3’s flight simulators. The 17-week training will take place at L3’s U.K. Airline Academy training locations. The first class of students will begin training with L3 in August 2018.
