The National Training and Simulation Association named Matt Spruill, Trideum Operations Manager as the 2019 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) Deputy Program Chair.
The announcement was made by the current Program Chair, Robert Kleinhample, SAIC Vice President Simulation and Training Systems. The Deputy Conference Chair role for 2019 puts Spruill on track to be the Program Chair in 2020 and Conference Chair in 2022.
Spruill is a recognized leader in the modeling and simulation community. He served as a previous Conference Chair for the Modeling and Simulation World Conference and Exposition, a member of the Modeling and Simulation Task Force for Senator Mark Warner (Va.), a member of the Advisory Board for ECPI Database/Simulation and Game Programming, the Virginia Modeling & Simulation Partnership Chairman of the Board, an I/ITSEC Simulation and Emerging Concepts Subcommittees delegate, and as the I/ITSEC Special Events Chair for the last three years.
Spruill retired from the U.S. Army in 2008 after 20 years of service, including 10 years providing Live, Virtual and Constructive training solutions at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels. He has 30 years of success in leading complex and diverse organizations and is also co-author on three books. Spruill holds a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems (1997) from Colorado State University and a B.B.A. degree in Management Information Systems (1988) from the University of Kentucky.
