Inzpire to manage transition from UK DSALT programme

Inzpire Limitedhas been awarded the UK Royal Air Force Defence Operational Training Concept (Air)(DOTC(A)) Interim White Force contract and will manage the transition from theDefence Synthetic Air-Land Training (DSALT) programme over a 42-month period.

Delivery ofDOTC(A) will enable the RAF to adopt a distributed approach to syntheticcollective training, with front-line operators using their mission simulatorsto access a common immersive synthetic environment within which they canachieve collective training requirements. The Air Battlespace Training Centreat RAF Waddington will become the hub for this capability, housing the DOTC(A)Core Systems and Services and White Force personnel, and connected to MainOperating Bases by a secure network.  Thedistributed training model will allow up to five training exercises to be runconcurrently.

DOTC(A) willcontinue to use DSALT’s highly successful Whole Force Approach, with trainingdelivered by an expert White Force team made up of full-time serving militaryinstructors working alongside reservists and contractors.  Inzpire’s experts will provide acradle-to-grave service including designing, building and testing exercises beforecompleting rehearsals, exercise delivery and debriefs.  Additional DOTC(A) innovation provided byInzpire will include operations support specialists alongside configuration andinformation management experts.

The new capability,known as Gladiator, will deliver a step-change in our ability to provideeffective synthetic training for front-line personnel, and is the pathfinderprogramme for similar synthetic training solutions planned across UK Defence.

“Combined with other programmes that are delivering new aircraftsimulators, Gladiator will provide front-line personnel with the ability totrain with colleagues and allies in a secure, immersive and operationally realisticenvironment, making them better prepared for a range of current and potentialscenarios and an ever-increasing adversary threat.”
