This year Leonardo will be a major exhibitor at ITEC 2019, the annual forum dedicated to simulation, education and training in the military and civil domains.

Training and simulation is a rapidly expanding market andLeonardo will provide visitors at ITEC, which takes place in Stockholm, Sweden, with an overview of its latestinnovations. At the Leonardo stand (IB35) it will be possible to interact withXR Morpheus, a virtual reality training tool allowing for systemfamiliarization, operating and maintenance procedures in a synthetic,photorealistic environment. It supports instructors during the preparation andexecution of practical training allowing the easy creation of trainingsessions.

The International Flight Training School, the training academy launched last year by Leonardo and the Italian Air Force, will show how it covers the entire advanced and preoperational phase of the military pilot training syllabus. Its Simulation Based Trainer and Virtual Maintenance Training solutions will be on display at ITEC. These systems, fully representative of the real aircraft, are devoted to classroom students (pilots and maintenance technicians respectively).

With Leonardo’s involvement in the European project Ocean2020, it will also focus on the integration of unmanned platforms of differenttypes with naval units and the exchange of satellite data with command andcontrol centres on the ground.

In the helicopter sector, Leonardo is able to provide alarge scope of flight, mission and maintenance training capabilities and isconstantly expanding its global footprint. Telespazio VEGA Deutschland, asubsidiary of Telespazio, a joint venture between Leonardo (67 percent) andThales (33 percent), is exhibiting its latest simulation-based militarytraining systems including the company’s involvement in helicopter programmes.Among them, the company is showing its Virtual Maintenance Trainers as well asthe Aircraft Systems Trainers.
