Australian helicopter simulation outfit Ryan Aerospace has won the Small Business prize at the Queensland Premier's Export Awards.
Leveraging VR technology and investing heavily in research and development, Ryan Aerospace has developed a new kind of helicopter simulator that is disrupting traditional helicopter training paths.
Ryan Aerospace has won some major military contracts in the United States in the last twelve months. It has also seen significant growth at home, in Asia and Europe.
Managing Director, Chris Ryan said the award recognised the hard work put in by his small but growing team.
Ryan Aerospace was also a finalist in for the Defence Industry category. ImmersaView, who provide software solutions for visualization applications, took that honour.
By winning the Small Business prize, Ryan Aerospace has been entered into the Australian National Export Awards in December.
Established in 2005, Ryan Aerospace specialises in the design and manufacture of helicopter simulators aimed largely at the defence sector. The company earned an honorable mention in the small business category in the 2019 MS&T awards, while its HELIMOD Mark III was given an honorable mention in the Outstanding VR/AR/MR Application.
