The U.S.Navy has partnered with The Gronstedt Group to convert a legacy touchscreen maintenance training program into an immersive VR simulation, according to ATD.

Sailors can now step into a virtual submarine machinery room with realistic fidelity that allows them to feel tactile vibrations and hear the diesel engine roar to life. Testers gave the VR program a perfect score, highlighting its realism and effectiveness. This project is currently in the R&D phase by the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division.
