Medics from the 2nd Infantry Division/ROK-U.S. Combined Division and Korean Armed Forces Medical School students conducted a joint Comprehensive Medical Training in Daejeon, South Korea. This training, a first for U.S. military participation, involves a rigorous program where trainees apply their knowledge from initial reception to patient care, incorporating tactics, patient evacuation, and trauma treatment.
The exercise focused on behavioral education for medical officers and non-commissioned officers, and aimed to enhance the operational capabilities of soldiers through mastering basic procedures, discussing medical tactics, and engaging in night training.
The three-day event included patient evacuation procedures, treatment according to different situations, and chemical, biological, and radiological (CBRN) medical support. Night training activities involved handling mass casualties in conditions of limited visibility, such as operating detoxification stations and evacuating patients while wearing gas masks. The combined efforts highlighted effective teamwork, overcoming communication barriers to provide seamless medical support.
