Cape Fear Valley Health’s simulation center was recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review for its contribution to medical training. The center provides a safe, controlled environment where medical professionals, including residents, practice essential skills using advanced simulators and surgical platforms. It will also train future medical students through Cape Fear Valley’s partnership with Methodist University to create the region’s first medical school.

The center features a hospital-like layout, including a surgical room and ICU, where over 11,000 physicians trained last year. It utilizes lifelike mannequins to simulate patient conditions, helping physicians enhance clinical skills and bedside manners. Cape Fear Valley’s residency program, which started in 2017, has already trained over 275 residents.

The center plays a pivotal role in Cape Fear Valley’s expansion into a teaching hospital, with plans to accommodate more students from the upcoming medical school.
