Ugandan welders are embracing a new virtual reality (VR) training technology introduced by Scog Elite Uganda to enhance skills in a risk-free environment. The technology simulates real welding conditions, improving muscle memory and reducing training costs.

Industry leaders say VR training can help address Uganda’s skills gap, where only 80 of over 1,000 welders meet international standards. The initiative aims to boost local welders' competitiveness in sectors like oil, gas, and infrastructure development.
