The National Center for Simulation (NCS) has opened its annual scholarship applications for outstanding senior students seeking secondary education in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) field at an accredited technical school, college, or university.
“NCS is looking forward to supporting students once again through our scholarship program,” said George Cheros, president and CEO of NCS. “An investment in education is an investment in our future. We’re proud to continue this effort and hope to inspire more students to pursue careers in STEM fields.”
This program is designed to recognize academic achievement & improvement in addition to recognizing students who have continually strived for excellence in high school and in their community. Up to $2,000 will be awarded to eligible students.
NCS will also partner with the University of Central Florida on March 24 to conduct its annual Lou Frey Memorial Golf Tournament. Funds raised at this event support education and workforce initiatives that benefit both elementary, middle, and high school programs throughout Central Florida, including this scholarship fund.
Graduating high school students with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher may apply, and the application is now open through March 21. Winners will be notified by April 12 and will be invited to a reception to celebrate their award. This $2,000 scholarship considers economic need in addition to other factors to determine award winners.
