The University of Notre Dame hosted its second annual BLDG Trades Day on March 7, 2025, at the Stepan Center, attracting over 1,100 students from local high schools. Organized by Notre Dame, the Michiana Area Construction Industry Advancement Fund, St. Joseph Valley Building Trades, the South Bend Regional Chamber, and the Greater Niles Chamber of Commerce, the event featured over 70 contractors.

Students participated in hands-on activities, including tool demonstrations, virtual reality experiences, and tours of Notre Dame’s construction sites. Industry experts highlighted the demand for skilled workers in construction and encouraged students to explore trade careers, offering insights into job opportunities and benefits. Exhibitors like Annette Knoop of Kuert Concrete and Elena Guadiana from the Indiana Careers in Construction Association promoted the trades as a rewarding career path with long-term potential.
