Cloud Global Group acquired a second Diamond DA42 Twinstar aircraft for its subsidiary company, ACS Flight Training. The £1-million investment will double the Twinstar fleet used for commercial flight training at Perth Airport in Scotland.

The DA42 features an environmentally friendly diesel engine and a Garmin G1000 glass cockpit with a Traffic Advisory System environment to provide trainees with relevant preparation for their aircraft types. The engines is computer controlled through fly-by-wire digital throttles that eliminate the need for traditional multi-levers used on conventional light twin aircraft. The cockpit layout replicates the controls on jet airliners.

ACS Flight Training says it is the first school in Scotland to offer the Multi-Engine rating and Instrument Rating in the DA42 Twinstar aircraft and the Alsim flight simulator.
