Avsoft has just released its updated UPRT (Upset Prevention and Recovery Training) course for pilots, designed to align with new ICAO standards.

In response to customer demand and evolving regulatory requirements, Avsoft has updated its UPRT course, adding new content to provide more comprehensive coverage of critical recovery skills. The new content emphasizes the need for precise and rapid responses in upset recovery scenarios to ensure successful recoveries and go-arounds. The course now focuses on adapting recovery techniques to specific circumstances encountered during approach, enhancing flight crew readiness for unexpected events.

Additionally, it highlights the importance of adjusting recovery strategies based on aircraft configuration for effective go-around situations. The updates also address how aircraft gross weight impacts recovery, helping pilots manage changes in behavior during critical flight phases. Finally, the importance of teamwork, communication, and situational awareness in high-stress scenarios is underscored to ensure a safe and coordinated recovery.

Avsoft’s UPRT course explores essential concepts, definitions, limitations, components, and procedures related to UPRT, with coverage for both Jet and Turboprop aircraft; users can select the applicable aircraft type at the beginning of the course. Topics covered include weather-induced upsets, system-induced upsets, pilot-induced upsets, energy states of an aircraft, aerodynamics, high-altitude handling, upset assessment, stall recognition and recovery, and managing nose-high and nose-low situations. Each of the course’s three modules concludes with a test, and successful completion generates a certificate. Customers also have the option to include a final exam.

For Airlines or ATOs interested in exploring Avsoft’s offerings, a demo trial is available for our Aircraft Type Rating and General Subject Courses, including the UPRT Course. Avsoft’s eLearning Courses deliver comprehensive training for Airlines, ATOs, and individual pilots, with flexible deployment and content customization to meet diverse training needs.
