Dr. Urano is an experienced cabin safety specialist within the aviation industry having served in different roles both in-house at airlines and as a training provider. A speaker at APATS 2024, Dr Urano is dedicated to ensuring the high quality of cabin safety is upheld. Here, she offers a report on training seminar attended by the leading figures in Chinese aviation.


Approximately 80 representatives from leading Asian airlines convened in China for the International Seminar on Training Methods Based on Job Competency, hosted by the Civil Aviation Management Institute of China.

Held from Nov. 19-22 at the Sichuan Airlines Training Center, the event aimed to enhance the professional skills and competencies of civil aviation practitioners through advanced training concepts and methods.

Global experts delivered presentations on topics such as Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA), Evidence-Based Training (EBT), and Crew Resource Management (CRM). 

Attendees, including representatives from airlines like China Southern Airlines and institutions such as the Civil Aviation Flight University of China, Guangzhou Civil Aviation College, and Tai'an Kaiying Model Studio, participated in simulation exercises and scenario-based learning activities to deepen their understanding of these methodologies.

The seminar balanced theoretical insights from industry leaders with hands-on training, equipping participants with practical skills and actionable strategies to enhance future training programs. Interactive sessions encouraged knowledge exchange, providing valuable tools to improve civil aviation training practices.
