The Centre for Aviation Psychology (CAP) has entered a strategic partnership with Resilient Pilot to launch the Resilience Hub, a training platform designed to enhance pilot resilience and address critical non-technical competency gaps within the aviation industry.
Developed through CAP’s expertise in aviation psychology and Resilient Pilot’s holistic approach to training, the Resilience Hub offers a competency-based development (CBD) solution tailored for aviation. This platform not only strengthens essential non-technical competencies, such as leadership and teamwork, communication, and workload management, but also supports pilots and aspiring pilots at every career stage, from cadet training through command upgrade. In addition, pilots regularly self-assess and prioritize through machine learning the Countermeasures and Competencies recognized for development. By equipping pilots with crucial skills to handle the demands of today’s complex aviation environments, the Resilience Hub aims to ensure they are prepared for each step in their journey.
“With operational pressures on the rise, the need for continuous resilience development is more urgent than ever,” said Aedrian Bekker, Clinical and Aviation Psychologist at CAP. “The Resilience Hub is designed to address these challenges by providing pilots with the tools they need to manage stress and thrive, both on and off the flight deck. By fostering a supportive training environment, we’re not only equipping current pilots to excel but also creating an appealing pathway to attract the diverse talent essential for the aviation industry’s projected growth. This approach is fully aligned with EASA and ICAO standards, ensuring safety and compliance at every step.”
“The Resilience Hub is designed to seamlessly fit into the demanding schedules of today’s pilots,” said Stuart Beech, Founder of Resilient Pilot and an active pilot. “By offering a blend of self-paced online learning and in-person facilitation, we enable pilots to develop their non-technical competencies continuously, wherever they are. This flexibility, combined with our alignment to EASA’s CRM training standards, ensures pilots and organizations can stay compliant while prioritizing safety and resilience.”
The partnership between CAP and Resilient Pilot brings together CAP’s in-depth understanding of the psychological demands on pilots with Resilient Pilot’s dedication to fostering resilience in aviation. This collaboration underscores a shared mission: to elevate pilot training and help aviation organizations address both performance and safety needs in an increasingly complex industry.
