Southwest Airlines has awarded $400,000 in scholarships to 20 students pursuing higher education in 2024. These scholarships, including the Southwest Airlines Founders Scholarship for employees' dependents and the Southwest Airlines Community Scholarship for aspiring aviation professionals, support students’ academic goals while strengthening the airline's talent pipeline.

This year’s recipients represent diverse fields such as aerospace engineering, finance, and more, attending universities like Auburn University and Arizona State University. Each scholar also received two round-trip tickets to help maintain connections with loved ones.

Students expressed gratitude for the life-changing impact of these scholarships. Gage G., an aspiring pilot attending Stephen F. Austin University, shared his dream of one day flying alongside his mother, a longtime Southwest Flight Attendant.

Applications for 2025 scholarships will open early next year.
