As we build up to the announcement of the 2020 MS&T Industry Award Winners on August 10, we look back on some of the past winners. In 2018, Cape Henry Associates claimed the Outstanding Innovative Product prize.
This award recognizes innovative products that provide enhanced value to the military client’s education, training or human performance domains. The category includes, but is not limited to, products such as:
Cape Henry’s HVLE is a mobile, scalable, reconfigurable, learning environment powered by Lighthouse SBIR Phase III technology and built on Open Source technologies. The HVLE incorporates the latest technologies including enterprise level data aggregation analytics, an integrated Learning Management System (LMS) and an xAPI Learning Record Store (LRS). Each HVLE when deployed provides nearly 1000 square feet of environmentally controlled, self-contained, training space with Virtual Reality capable computer systems and dual 24-inch touchscreen monitors for each student station. The HVLEs can be split with included dividers to allow for two configurations for each unit. Multiple HVLEs can be linked together to scale training throughput and combine live, virtual and constructive (LVC) training modalities. The Lighthouse HVLE is focused on disrupting the logistics related to training delivery and features in C-ARTS (Carrier-Advanced Reconfigurable Training System).
Cape Henry Associates (CHA) was awarded MS&T's first-ever Outstanding Innovative Product award last year for its Lighthouse High Velocity Learning Environment (HVLE) product. As the lead systems integrator supporting PEO CARRIERS with the Carrier Advanced Reconfigurable Training System (C-ARTS) HVLE program, CHA has brought training to the point of need with mobile training facilities that can be placed pierside. C-ARTS is the realization of an effort to improve the types and kinds of training readily available to naval personnel in response to the Navy’s Sailor 2025 training concept.
“The MS&T award brought additional recognition allowing us to continue expanding our Lighthouse technology,” said Chuck Wythe, CHA’s chief revenue officer. CHA is committed to providing the best, state-of-the-art technology to its clients. There are currently two C-ARTS HVLE trainers in service, with two others currently in production. “It’s an exciting time to be in tech and training," says Wythe.
